Join us for our Flip the Switch community event on September 17th!

Join Toppenish School District on Thursday, September 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Valley View Elementary for a free night of family fun centered around renewable energy, conservation and the future of our community.

Come check out our new solar and battery energy technology, learn how our BESS+ project can save the district money, support cleaner energy and help provide power for essential community services during large-scale outages, and have a whole lot of fun while you’re here!

Families can look forward to:

☀Lots of hands-on STEAM activities for kids
☀A chance to build a solar-powered robot
☀Games, prizes and more!

Our official Flip the Switch Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.

This is a chance for our students, families and neighbors to see firsthand how this exciting project will benefit Toppenish now and into the future.

Please note that this celebration is for our entire Toppenish community, not only Valley View families!

Our BESS+ project and this community event have been funded by the Washington State Climate Commitment Act.

We're only a few days away from our Flip the Switch Community Event and we're starting to get excited! A full lineup of our 20+ free activities will be posted tomorrow, but here's a sneak peek to help get you excited!

- Free bags, books and bookmarks for kids!
- Free apples to take home
- Free dinner and cupcakes
- Lots of STEAM activity stations
- Build a solar car to take home
- Decorate a reusable water bottle
- Raffle for prizes
- Flip the Switch ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.

The check-in line will begin forming at 5:00 p.m. at the Welcome Tent at Valley View Elementary. The event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All activities, giveaways and food is free while supplies last!
